One of my children has been injured at school and I think the school is to blame. Can my child sue the school?

Yes. If the school was negligent then your child will have a valid claim. In practice, you – as the child’s parent or guardian – will bring the legal claim but that is little more than a legal technicality.

One other point to note is that the usual 3 year period for bringing an accident claim is extended when a child is involved (instead of having to sue within 3 years of the date of the accident, a child need only sue within 3 years of reaching the age of 18). However, it is very unwise to rely on that longer period – the best advice is to bring any accident claim as speedily as possible. So do not delay in getting advice.

I agree with GLG. I have a claim which the child claimant did not start for over 5 years. Although he is still within time, the risk is that the evidence will be stale because people can't remember what happened as well as they would have done 5 years ago.
