Immigration question:

I wish to sponsor my 71 years old parents from Tanzania for settlement. I am a British Citizen and my parents and I (the main sponsor) meet all the requirements laid under paragraph 317 (i)-(v) of Part 8 (Immigration rules for Family Members) as per the link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/policyandlaw/immigrationlaw/immigrationrules/part8/parentsgrandparentsandother/ . However, I am not very clear on the new rules that came into effect on 9th July 2012 for this section. Could you please advise on the likelyhood of my parent's application succeeding?

I cannot comment on the outcome of your parents application. However I can clarify your parents position in line with the new changes in the rules by giving you a summary of the requirements.

firstly, you have to show that your parents requires a long term personal care as a result of age, illness or disabilty.

Secondly, your parents are unable to receive the required level of care in the country where they are living.

Thirdly, there is no other person in that country who can reasonably provide that care.

Lastly, evidence to show that your parents can be adequately maintained, accommodated and cared for in the United Kingdom.
