If you have a whiplash neck injury (typically in a car accident) you can expect to recover all your out-of-pocket expenses, plus lost wages. In addition, you should get compensation for the injury itself. How much will depend on how serious an injury it is, and how long it takes you to recover. At a minimum, you will probably get £750, but it could be up to £4,000 or so if it takes a couple of years for you to make a full recovery. For longer periods of recovery, you are probably talking £4,000-£7,000, and for an injury that leaves you with permanent pain then it could be up to £13,000 or so.

Obviously, much depends on the specific injury (and how serious it is). Plus, this naturally assumes that you did not have neck problems beforehand – and it also assumes you were in no way to blame for the accident.

Beware the "man in the pub" who it seems always says he got thousands of pounds more than you for a more minor injury !

Seriously whilst it's possible to give you a broad indication of what your injury may be worth it cannot be properly valued until a medical report has been obtained with a final prognosis for recovery.

Whiplash injuries can range significantly from very minor to much more serious, long lasting injuries. The value will depend on how severity of your injury and your recovery time.
