Once you are in the arbitration procedure does not mean you are locked in until an outcome in the process has been reached. If you reach an agreement to settle your case with your employer, you can ask the appointed arbitrator to make an award based on the settlement. You can also settle the matter between yourself and your employer without the arbitrator present and ask to have the case withdrawn.
