Immigration question:

My mother has lived in the UK for the last 8+ years. Both times she has applied to remain as a dependent parent the application has been refused. The first time around we appealed and the UKBA decision was upheld even after a judicial review. Can anything be done to regularise her stay in the UK. She has no children in her home country, is divorced and is now well over 65 years of age. Her son is UK resident, is married and has three children. Have spent vast amounts of money in litigation. Any advice appreciated.

A dependent relative can now only apply from outside the UK. So the best possible way to regularise your mother's stay in the UK is by submitting a fresh application based on her private life. Although, you have not provided your mother's detailed circumstance, it would be advisable to have a face to face meeting with an Immigration adviser who may have to take a detailed instruction to be able to advice you on how to proceed with this application.
